Recipe #9: Spicy Superbowl

Celebrating the big dance between the Saints & the Colts obviously required a little hearty food on such a cold day. And since New Orleans is called "The Big Easy" I opted to make an EASY SOUTHERN DISH in the crockpot. JAMBALAYA! Very delicious with the shrimp, deer sausage, & chicken in it. Oh and, let's not forget our cajun seasoning. With a name like "Slap Yo Mama," you know that jamalaya had a kick to it! To cool down our tastebuds, I baked Chico's Montana Snowball Cookies. These bite-size little goodies were as popular as Porter's superbowl haircut! And as we ended up with very full bellies, the Saints came marching home with a 31-17 victory. Oh to be on Bourbon Street right now. Eruptions of spirited fans, beads, & lots of "Who Dat" that will last well into next week's Mardi Gras I'm sure!!
~Rating of Montana Snowball Cookies: 7 stars (out of 10)
~Quote of the day: "The lotus is a flower that grows in the mud. The thicker & deeper the mud, the more beautiful the lotus blooms." -from the Buddhist chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo in the movie What's Love Got To Do With It: The Ike & Tina Turner Story
~Music while cooking: Celebrity Rehab (I'm "addicted" to this series), & What's Love Got To Do With It: The Ike & Tina Turner Story (an outstanding movie of COURAGE!)
