Recipe #58: backyard campfire

(36 recipes to go.)
Here's a Chico recipe we didn't care for! Even though making it was fun; Travis donned his rendezvous hat and I wore my prairie bonnett to put us in a Wild West mood while cooking in our backyard. This side dish was intended to accompany the Dutch Oven meal we made over the fire, but it just didn't tickle our tastebuds. Cabbage & Jicama Slaw = yucky. Wrangler Pie = yummy! If you do own a Dutch Oven, you will definately enjoy this recipe we got out of The Log Cabin Dutch Oven Cookbook:
Wrangler Pie
Brown 2 lb hamburger with 1 diced onion, drain off fat. Add 2 c. string beans & 2 c. cream of mushroom soup. Spread mashed potatoes (10 potatoes) on top. Sprinkle cheese over potatoes & cook for 10 more minutes until cheese is melted. This can be done in a 12" dutch oven.
~Rating of Cabbage & Jicama Slaw: 2 stars (out of 10)
~Quote of the day: "Welcome to the Church of the Holy Cabbage. Letuuce pray." -Author Unknown.
~Music while cooking: Buckcherry's 15.
